Identification:
Usually a uniform grey-brown colour which fade as they mature.
Large rounded anal fin and long thread-like pelvic fins.
The male has thickened lips during breeding time.

Typical location:
In slow flowing or standing waters of lakes, ponds, swamps and rivers.

Fishing methods:
Fishing with bread, dough or earthworms on float or drifting on the surface.

Fighting characteristics:
A tough fighter with several fast runs and powerful dives
mixed with constant direction changes.
